We will prepare you for the theory test which every learner needs to pass. You'll also receive valuable tips and information.

The theory test is divided into two parts:

1. A multiple-choice test comprising 50 multiple-choice questions covering aspects of the Highway Code. The pass mark is 43.
2. A hazard perception test consisting of a series of video clips of actual road hazards that need to be identified. The pass mark is 44.

The DVSA recommends that most learners take at least 45 hours of professional tuition lessons and at least 20 hours private practicewith friends and family.

The average number of lessons taken with Keith is currently 30 hours. As all learners are different, some will pass more quickly than others, but you can see the obvious savings that can be made when you are prepared to pay a little more for quality driving lessons.

Remember cheap driving lessons are usually poor quality and you will end up having more lessons and therefore paying more out in the long run.

Your driving test will start with an eyesight check and some vehicle safety questions. The driving part of your test will last about 38 to 40 minutes. Throughout the test your examiner will be looking for an overall safe standard of driving, including when you are carrying out the set exercises. You can make up to 15 driving faults and still pass the test (16 or more results in failure). However, if you commit one serious or dangerous fault you will fail the test. 

On 4th December 2017 the practical driving test changed to include a 20 minute drive where you follow a SatNav and included the introduction of a new manouvre ie. pulling over onto rightside of road, reversing two car lengths and moving off again joining the correct side of the road. The turn in the road and left corner reverse became no longer be part of the test.

Keith qualified as a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor in July 2006 and since then, he has been helping Learner Drivers pass their Practical Driving Test at Driving Test Centres mainly in Rochdale, but also Bury, Chadderton, Cheetham Hill and Bolton.

A grand total of 386 learners have now passed with him [latest Kian Thompson] and his overall record over the last 10 years is shown below which is equivalent to one pass every 10 days:
